Appreciation
"Appreciation is the highest form of
prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the
light of your thankful thoughts."
Alan Cohen
For a writer it is very difficult to keep continuing without any appreciation. Maybe it is the same with me. I need appreciation too whether it be in a positive way or a negative way. Recently I realized I'm swaying away from my life, my passion - writing.
In school we have to maintain diaries where we everyday we have to write our 'reflection of the day'. It's nothing but basically how we feel or how we spent our day. Basically it depends upon the child what he or she wants to write.
Last year I loved to write in that little space provided. But this year I know I'm not doing justice to myself and my writings in that diary. I am never able to express my thoughts freely. I have just become so reserved. Maybe this is because last year I had a different class teacher and this year it's someone else.
But what really is taking my confidence away from me is lack of appreciation. Just signing the diary won't develop a taste for writing. On the contrary it's effects will be quite opposite. It's not just writers who need appreciation. Everyone does. Everyone has a writer present in them.
How can the teachers really expect us students to write "willfully and with full enjoyment". I wish I could write more at the moment but I just don't know what else to say.
