A heartfelt letter to all my seniors. Adios Amigos.

Dear seniors,

Here I am waiting…I'll have to leave soon. Why am I holding on? We knew this day would come…We knew it all along…How did it come so fast?

Alas! Today has come. Whether or not we wanted this day to come, it has come and gone and created some amazing memories between all of us. The bond today is stronger than ever before. We have smiled together, cried together, and laughed together, danced together and even survived school together.

Today is the day when we wish you a farewell. Today is the day when we part and go our separate ways. It is the time when we know we are being selfish when we beg you not to leave us even when we know that is bound to happen, that is supposed to happen.

It has been a prodigious journey and was nothing less than a live movie. Sometimes it showcased love, sometimes happiness, other times envy and yet gave a strong feeling of togetherness. It had fights and rows and conflicts, yet we were all together in this. And this sense of unity is what made the movie really worthwhile to watch.

You are taking off in a plane that will take you to your dreams and land wherever your goals lie… leaving behind a legacy and a responsibility that we will have to undertake to be something as great as you are. You are leaving us in a state of fear because we worry we might fail you as juniors and fail as senior to the following batch. We all dream to be something but first we want to become like you.

We as your preceding batch would lose our umbrella that gave us protection during the heavy rains. Somehow the words that seemed bitter once are going to be our light in a dark tunnel when we have to put on your shoes and walk in your shoes. You have set so many standards for us. It will be difficult to guide and show the light to our juniors the way you did to us.

It pains us to let you go. It pains us when we realize that people who we looked up to, though subconsciously won’t be there to help us anymore. It pains us that we have to smile in photographs to look good, when we really want to cry our eyes out and let you all know how much you will be missed.

But despite everything, this is your home. You are always welcome back home. Because we all love you and we would love to have you back any day, anytime. When you come home to visit us, it just means more happy memories with some of the best people in the world. We will always be there to welcome you home and if needed, we will spread out red carpets and shower you with flower petals. But never shy away from returning home, returning back to us.

Some junior
